COVID-19: Important Tips on Safety and Business Resiliency
FoodTec Solutions continues to be committed to helping our customers’ success and resiliency, especially now when faced with the challenges of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Our offices are fully operational at this time and we will continue to monitor the situation. All services and support remain open.
Cleaning Equipment
We have been asked how to clean the touch surfaces of various FoodTec equipment in order to help protect employees as much as possible. Please see the following from the equipment manufacturers.
- YUNO Stations
- Use Alcohol based cleansers (i.e. Lysol, Purell, etc.)
- DO NOT USE BLEACH BASED CLEANERS (i.e. Clorox)
- J2 650/680 Stations
- Use standard glass cleaner (i.e. Windex)
- ELO Touchscreens
- Avoid highly concentrated (70%+) alcohol, bleach or ammonia solutions, as these may cause discoloration. See detailed cleaning instructions here:

Driving Business during COVID-19
With fewer people going out to public places, many restaurants are feeling a pinch. We recommend that those FoodTec customers with delivery services make an extra effort to promote delivery through special offers and e-mail marketing.
Contactless Delivery
Some of your customers may request ‘contactless delivery,’ where there is no interface between driver and customer and the delivery is left at the door. Here are a few considerations when fulfilling that request:
Contactless delivery would be credit card sales only as no cash could be exchanged.
As a business owner, you would have to forego the extra security of collecting a signature. This is an ownership business decision. Please contact FoodTec if you would like to temporarily stop requiring a signature on deliveries. Note that FoodTec will not be responsible for any chargebacks resulting from the abuse of contactless delivery.
If a phone-in order requests contactless delivery, we recommend that you verbally offer the opportunity for the customers to tip the driver in advance – much like in online ordering.
